The logo represents the ‘family’ – the elder or elders and its members, the children, the young for whom the future belongs. The long tail represents the canoe or boat from which the people of New Zealand came, within this vessel also came the families, groups of people, who are now settled in Aotearoa. The colour green denotes, not fear, but freshness, grassy fields, sea, spring … being prepared for what the future brings.
